Munster Programming Training

The Department of Computer Science at University College Cork runs a variety of outreach programs aimed at secondary school mainly for transition year students from the Munster area, called "Munster Programming Training". The MPT Cycle 1 program aims to offer to transition year students a special training in computer programming as preparation for participation in the "All Irish Schools Programming Competition". The program will consist of a series of 26 formal and practical lectures that will be delivered by lecturers and researchers from the Department on Saturday mornings from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The MPT Cycle 2 program enrols the best MPT Cycle 1 students for 1 or 2 more years for a special training in algorithms and problem solving as preparation for the national and international programming competitions.
