Geographica Hiberniae is a multimedia E-Learning tool for students of
Ireland's geography with the intention when completed to be part of a
network of shared educational technology among participating universities
in both Ireland and the UK. Geographica Hiberniae utilises intelligent
media in the form of streaming video of original documentaries,
downloadable video examples of relevant material, PDF formatted
documentation and literature along with a moodle platform for
communication in a flash interface. It also features a login system in the
moodle E-Learning element, for protected content.
The purpose of this project is to utilise computers in order to create an
interactive learning tool in which students may be educated in an
involving manner with visually engaging media. E-Learning is an important
step for the development of higher education and one that will be
increasingly utilised in the coming years as an important tool in aiding
the education process in both secondary and third level education.
